Revision Strategy for JEE Mains 2017
This is one of the most crucial time for any JEE aspirant as only 3–4 months are left now, and this is the time when most of the students start their revision. Revision is one of the most important part of your JEE preparation and if utilized well, could elevate your rank a lot.
Utilize your January month for most of the revision, specially from topics covered in class 11. Revise your moderately strong chapters first so that you could get a strong hold over them. Start from the beginning, read a little bit theory and concepts, and then practice a lot of questions. Practice them so well so that they no more remain moderate and you could be confident about them being your strong chapters.
Then start revising your strong chapters. Don't spend too much time upon them and focus more on Previous Year questions. Emphasize more on class 11 topics like Mechanics, Equilibrium and thermodynamics , Hydrogen and s block, Complex Numbers. Try to finish this segment of strong chapters quick so that you could start preparing for the weaker ones.
Now, move on to your weaker parts. In most of the cases, these parts consists of very less chapters. PS: these are the chapters which have been studied by you but are still weak. Start from the scratch for theses ones. If possible, refer to the NCERT. Practice a hell lot of questions. Give a good amount of time to the Previous Year Questions.
If left with some more time, start with the chapters you haven’t studied at all, if any.
A few more points:
- You could continue your revision process till about first week of February.
- Keep the chapters of class 12 for the end, and revise topics from class 11 first.
- Revise Inorganic Chemistry from NCERT.
- Understand all the mechanisms of Organic Chemistry.
- Give enough time to Mechanics.
- Attempt as many Previous Year Question as possible for each topic.
During Board exams(if you are appearing for them), try to solve any random 10 questions from various topics. This is important to keep your concepts brushed up.
After Board Exams, give most of your time to theoretical topics like Inorganic Chemistry, Bio Molecules etc. You need to study and read these chapters repeatedly.
Relax one day before your Mains Exam. Don't study at all.
And the last and the most important thing, NEVER GIVE UP !!
